Kindle Runes Review

Runes Review – Review Introduction

This is a review of Runes – a divination tool for Kindle by Olmatech Technology/Matrix Software.  It is available for $0.99 in the Amazon store. It was released in November 2011 and has not yet been rated.

Available on the following Kindle versions as of 12/4/2011: Kindle 4, Kindle Keyboard (formerly Kindle 3), Kindle DX, Kindle 2nd Generation.

Runes Review – Main Takeaways

The Kindle description is as follows: “Runes is an ancient oracle (a divination method) similar to the I-Ching and the Tarot.

Runes originated in ancient times, before the Germanic peoples of Western Europe had a real alphabet. At this time, they used pictorial symbols carved into stone or wood to record their stories. Some of these symbols, the Runes, were used for divination and oracular inquiries, and are still used in this way today.

Kindle Runes Active Content – Question entry and spread selector

There are seven spreads or layouts of runes to pick from when asking your question. Each spread is best for different kinds of questions. For example, you can pick one spread for “What if?” questions, and another for “Yes/No” questions. The Runes oracle answers questions according to the specific runes returned and their placement in the spread. Some runes can also be shown Inverted. By selecting the Inverted option, you can be shown weakened influence or negative qualities relevant to your question. Each spread and each rune is explained in detail, and a history of Runes is also included. Runes can also provide a second opinion, verifying or challenging answers already found.”

I entered the question “Will I ever get remarried?” and walked through each of the seven spreads.  They are easy to use and interesting to read.  I enjoyed reading the history  of Runes the most.

Runes Review – Conclusion and Overall Rating

I would give Runes a rating of 4 stars – based solely upon design and ease of use. Since I am not really into divination – I cannot give an honest review on how accurate the runes are – but it is an interesting tool and is worth checking out. I would also think that the results can be interpreted differently by your mindset at the time.
