Wizard’s Choice Review – Main Takeaways

Wizard’s Choice is a text based adventure and starts out with you wandering through the forest.  Pretty soon evil creatures are after you and you head off to hide in a crumbling castle (why can’t it be a nice castle?). The game tracks you health, manna, gold and morale and decisions made will affect these positively and negatively.   I figured I messed up when I noticed my health was at -2. Next thing you know – I was dead.

Now that I have brushed myself off – it is time to start all over again. The text controls are easy to use – all you need is the 5-way controller (guess that leaves Kindle Touch in the dust).

I was just happy to see that the cover wizard (or whoever it is) from Volume 1 had a face job and lasik surgery and contact lenses on the cover of Volume 2. Volume 3 appears to be about a manicure for the wizard.

Supposedly there is a cliff hanger at the end of Volume 1 (if I survive that long) and Volume 3 is supposed to be the grand finale.

Wizard’s Choice Review – Conclusion and Overall Rating

I would give Wizard’s Choice Volume 1 a rating of 4.5 stars. The pictures are decent – but I want a map so I know where I die at. It killed me off fairly quickly – but I like the story line and am heading back for more and picking up Volumes 2 and 3 while I am at it. If you like choose your own adventure/text based adventures and are moderately  mature (I think I might qualify – these might not be good to read to young children) – then check them out.
