Word Games Pack

What is available in Word Games Pack? Five great games.  Our team has spent a lot of time developing these games for maximum enjoyment and playability – including beautiful graphics and in-depth word/quote lists. At the request of our users, we have added sounds to all games (optional).

  1. Word Search – 50 categories available in the full game. 3 levels of difficulties, 3 game modes, plus many other settings. Games are randomly generated so you can play the same category over and over. Trophies are available to motivate you to check out all the categories as well as statistics for game play.
  2. Hangman – 50 categories available to all users. 2 levels of difficulties and 2 options for numbers of tries/guesses available. (I recommend 9 tries so that you see all the phrases associated with each character). Trophies are available to motivate you to check out all the categories as well as statistics for game play. It is well worth purchasing extra stars to check out additional characters in the game.
  3. Quote Falls – 26 categories with multiple quotes available in each of them. Easy categories include shorter quotes and Hard categories include longer quotes. Various settings and stats available.
  4. Kriss Kross – 41 categories available in the full game. Games are randomly generated so you can play the same category over and over. Track your game play with statistics.
  5. Speed Words – Categories for words starting with each letter of the alphabet in the full game. Challenge yourself to see how quickly you can find the required words for each level. Check out the additional game and time modes and statistics for game play. Note: This is an original game by the 7 Dragons team.

Update

The update of the paid version of Word Games Pack increases the number of games from two to five. The original release worked well on the original Kindle Fire, but not on newer versions of the Kindle Fire. Make sure you get the update if you already have purchased the original release.

Word Games Pack is rated 4.2 out of 5 stars on 16 customer reviews based on two games on the original device.

The 5 game version of Word Games Pack on the Nook is rated 4.5 stars out of 5 stars on 354 customer reviews.  The Nook store has had all five games out for a while and the reviews can provide additional details for interested users.

Games

The following screenshots show each of the games in play on the Kindle Fire.

Word Search on Kindle Fire

Games can have from 9-12 words in them. Choose from 3 game modes of Visible Words, First Letter Visible and Invisible Words. Drag your finger across the word or tap the first and last letter to highlight them. Hints are available.

Hangman on Kindle Fire

Play Hangman with 7 or 9 tries available in each game. One hint per game. We have added different graphics and sayings for all purchasable characters: Tart the Apple, Teddy the Teddy Bear, Tiny the Elephant, Lorelei the Mermaid, Bob the Office Worker (my favorite), Juicy the Orange, Cap’n the Pirate, Floppy the Rabbit, Sam the Sheep, and Sunny the Sunflower. Juicy the Orange is shown in the above screenshot.

Quote Falls in Kindle Fire

Quote Falls is a game involving the transcribing of a mixed up quote. Make sure you check out the How To Play section for a walkthrough of how to solve these puzzles. Reveal Letter provides hints as needed.

Kriss Kross on Kindle Fire

Kriss Kross is a variation on crossword puzles where you use logic to enter words from the word list into the puzzle grid. Use Hint if you get stuck and Keys to enter words in the grid.

Speed Words on Kindle Fire

Speed Words provides you with a base word and a number of words that need to be found in a specific period of time. Find the required number of words and you can move on to the next level. See how many levels you can complete and how many game stars you can earn.

Kindle Fire Aces Traffic Puzzle Pack Free App of the Day

The free app of the day today is Aces Traffic Puzzle Pack. Rated for all ages and it has 4 stars on 70 customer reviews.

Basically – this is an android version of the Traffic game, but the graphics look good and it has 480 puzzles of increasing difficulty available to play.  It hasn’t caught the attention of too many naysayers yet, although their main comments is to pick up Rush Hour instead of this.

Kindle Fire Missile Defender is Free App of the Day

The Amazon Android App Store is offering Missile Defender as the free app of the day.  This game looks very promising reading the reviews.  A new version of the old arcade game. It is appropriate for ages 9 and older and is rated 4.5 stars on 108 customer reviews.  Grab it before midnight when it goes up to the insanely high price of $0.99.

“Defend your city against an enemy bombardment in this touchscreen twist on the classic arcade game. Intercept missiles, upgrade your defenses, and play through limitless levels. See how long you’re able to hold out before your physical and psychological defenses crumble.”

It looks fun.  I will give it a try later today.

Kindle Fire Monopoly – Free App of the Day and Electronic Arts Sale

The Amazon Android App Store is offering Monopoly as the free app of the day.  Regularly priced at $4.99 – if you love Monopoly – this is a steal. Rated 3.5 stars on 135 customer reviews.

I have not tried it yet, but several Kindle Fire customers are singing its praises. Just a quick glance shows a mixed bags of positive and negative reviews in the last day.  Kindle Fire owners seem pretty pleased – so it might be that this version is optimized for the Fire.

Also – it looks like the remaining Electronic Arts apps are available for $0.99 right now – so it might be a good time to grab them up.

Kindle Fire Fruit Ninja Review

Fruit Ninja Review – Review Introduction

This is a review of Fruit Ninja – the well-known card game adapted for Kindle Fire by Halfbrick Studios Pty Ltd.  It is available for $0.99 in the Amazon Android store. It is suitable for children and older and is rated 4 stars on 346 customer reviews. Also available inthe Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots version as the free Amazon Android App of the  Day until Midnight tonight (12/27/2011). 4.5 stars on 48 customer reviews. Suitable for children. Regular price of $0.99.

Note: I tried to take screenshots while slicing fruit – but they didn’t turn out very well and were more grainy than I cared to post.

Fruit Ninja Review – Main Takeaways

Slice through fruit with your finger as fast as you can and avoid the bombs.  Sounds simple and it starts out that way – but gets complicated quickly.  This is a really fun game.  There are even fruit lessons when you lose. Does that count as eating my fruit each day?

Kindle Fire Fruit Ninja - mode selection screen

Try the different game modes: Arcade, Classic and Zen Mode. I tried them all and found each different and entertaining.

Fruit Ninja: Puss In Boots Review – Main Takeaways

Bandido mode has been added to this version. Slice through a series of increasingly exciting challenges in the all-new Bandito Mode, and become the greatest Fruit Ninja warrior of all time. Each stage thrusts you into never-before-seen fruit frenzy adventure. Face massive fruit from the Giant’s castle, precision and timing challenges, and all-out fruit onslaughts with new obstacles. Plus, for the first time ever, throw down against the much-requested tomato!

Kindle Fire Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots - Bandido Mode selector

I had a blast in Bandido mode – even when I lost. The different challenges were very enjoyable.

Fruit Ninja Review – Conclusion and Overall Rating

I would give Fruit Ninja a rating of 4.5 stars.  I’ve only played these games for an hour – but loved slicing the fruit and avoiding the bombs. I was really glad I wasn’t seen in public playing this – but think both games are a great deal and a great deal of fun.
