New Additions to the Kindle Active Content Store

Here are some recent new additions to the Kindle Active Content Store. You can find all of these at the Kindle Active Content Hot New Releases page.

Doodle Fit – A $1.99 game where you fit a set of blocks into a given shape. There are over 250 puzzles arranged in 9 themed packs.

POGO Hearts, Spades and More! from Electronic Arts – A collection of 5 card games for the Kindle. It’s amusing to see EA recycling cover art for its titles. The card game collection is $3.99 and pretty good value for money.

Hidden Expedition: Amazon from Big Fish Games. This is a hidden object game and it’s done very well and until recently had very high reviews. It’s $4.99 but based on what people are saying it’s well worth it.

Ghostboy and the Nameless Grave by Robot Media. It’s positioned as an Interactive Children’s Book for the Kindle and from my brief experience with it, it’s quite amazing. It’s $2.99 and given the quality I’d say it’s well worth it.

We close with perhaps the most impressive Kindle App I’ve seen in recent times (especially in terms of ambition and value for money).

Finance Manager by SwashApps is a Financial Tools collection for Kindle. It includes Calculators of various types and a financial calendar. At $1.99 it’s definitely worth a try.

That’s it for this post – More in a few days.

Finally, let’s look at the new releases this week and the past week -

  1. Daily Horoscopes by Mobigloo (2011 and 2012). Price: $2.99. Genre: Kindle App, Horoscope App. Surprised that this isn’t doing better.
  2. Snakes & Ladders by Olmatech Technology. Price: $1. Genre: Classic Game, Kindle Game. The old classic comes to the Kindle.
  3. Letter Landers by Gameblend Studios. Price: $2.99. Genre: Alphabet Game, Kindle Kids Game. A game that lets children have fun while learning the alphabet. For kids aged 3 and above.

The pace of new Kindle app releases has slowed down a bit. It really picked up in March, but April and May have been rather slow – just a few apps a week.
